Aokigahara

Aokigahara, also known as the “Suicide Forest”, is a 35 square kilometer forest that lies at the northwest base of Mount Fuji in Japan. The forest contains a number of rocky, icy caverns, a few of which are popular tourist destinations. A compass won't work in Aokigahara as it contains high minerals underground, which changes the magnetic field in the area. Due to the wind-blocking density of the trees and an absence of nearly any wildlife, people tend to get disorientated, lost, and die in the forest.
